Boasting a keep so tall it can touch the sky, three three-story turrets, and zig-zag "folding-screen" stone walls, it is like something out of a painting. Though its tremendous scale seems to suggest otherwise, this castle was part of a small domain, and set the stage for the Shimabara Rebellion. This famous castle marks the end of the period of war and the beginning of over 200 years of peace.
